Behind the Build: Meet the Crew

Written by Smart Surfacing
Every surface we lay has to work for the people who use it every day. Getting the levels, the drainage and the edges right matters, but leaving a site our clients are proud of matters most.
Good surfacing is hard to notice. It's also easy to get wrong.
Car parks, access roads and driveways take a beating every single day. When a surface fails, it shows up as puddles, potholes and trip hazards long before anyone thinks about what lies beneath it.
That's where our crews come in.
Between them they bring years of experience across machine lay, hand lay, resin bound and groundworks. What sets them apart isn't just the machinery, it's the care: checking falls, protecting edges and planning each day around how the site needs to keep working.

We want clients who care how their site looks and works, from hospitals and schools to family driveways.
Our approach
From the first survey through to handover, the same team stays close to both the client and the detail, making sure what's promised is delivered, and delivered well.
Most importantly, we understand that a surface is only as good as the preparation underneath it.
That's why every job starts below ground: excavation, sub-base and edging done properly before the final layer goes down.
